Finance Controller — Private Equity Fund
FP Global
Job Description
About the FirmA well-established Singapore-headquartered private equity firm with multi-billion dollar assets under management and more than 15 years of track record investing across Asia.
The OpportunityWe are seeking a Finance Controller to join the Singapore headquarters as a key member of the corporate finance team. This is a newly created position driven by the firm's continued growth in strategies, entities, and jurisdictions.
This is not a maintenance role. The firm has grown rapidly, and its corporate reporting infrastructure needs to catch up. The immediate mandate is to take ownership of the GP-level accounting and reporting landscape — regularise processes, establish consolidated visibility across the holding company, and build a framework that can scale with the platform.
Why This Role Will Appeal to YouIf you have built or rebuilt a reporting function in a lean, growing environment — not just managed one that already worked — this role is for you. You will have the opportunity to shape a critical function during a period of deliberate growth. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, is comfortable getting their hands dirty, and values substance over structure.
The reporting line and team structure will depend on the person hired and the skills and experience they bring
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Reporting (Core): Take ownership of GP-level accounting and reporting across multiple corporate entities and jurisdictions, consolidated under IFRS. Regularise and standardise reporting processes across outsourced service providers — establish timelines, quality controls, and escalation protocolsAudit Management: Coordinate year-end and interim audits with Big Four auditors. Manage timelines, documentation, and filings across multiple service providersTax Oversight: Supervise cross-border tax matters across multiple structures and jurisdictions, liaising with external tax advisorsCompliance Support: Support the Head of Compliance and Operations with escalation approvals and problem-solvingVendor & Service Provider Management: Coordinate and manage the network of outsourced accountants, fund administrators, corporate secretaries, and other service providers across entities and jurisdictions

Preferred Backgrounds Include:Finance professionals at fund managers or investment platforms who have managed GP-level corporate accounting and consolidation in lean, growing environments — not just large, structured onesCandidates who have built or rebuilt reporting frameworks, standardised processes across multiple outsourced providers, or led finance transformation projects (ERP migration, system implementation, process redesign)Fund administration professionals with CPA/CA who have managed complex PE client portfolios and are seeking a move to the principal side — particularly those comfortable operating without a large support teamBig Four assurance / audit professionals with consolidation experience of fund management companies or GP entities — looking to transition in-house to a hands-on, operational roleFinance controllers at listed companies or conglomerates managing multi-entity consolidation across multiple jurisdictions — especially those who have operated in under-resourced or high-growth environments
Who You AreA builder, not just a maintainer — you have taken messy, fragmented reporting and turned it into something that works. You are energised by disorder, not deterred by itHands-on and resourceful — you drive outcomes by working directly with service providers, holding them accountable on quality and timelines, and solving problems as they arise. You are comfortable operating without a large support teamTechnically strong — your IFRS consolidation, statutory reporting, and audit coordination skills are deep and current.
You can hold your own with Big Four auditors and external tax advisors across jurisdictionsComfortable with ambiguity — the firm is promoter-driven and entrepreneurial. Not everything is defined upfront. You trust the process, execute diligently, and adapt as the picture becomes clearerCross-border tax literate — you understand company-level tax implications across multiple jurisdictions and can supervise external tax advisors with confidenceA team player who integrates well into a close-knit, collaborative culture — steady, trustworthy, and long-term oriented.
You are looking for a home, not a stepping stone
