Overview about the company: Our client is a premium Indian ethnic menswear and celebration wear brand founded by designer duo Nilesh & Mitesh . The brand specializes in luxury sherwanis, kurtas, suits, indo-westerns, wedding wear, and bespoke occasion outfits for men.Established in 2009, the company has expanded from a single Mumbai retail outlet to 25+ stores across India and international locations including UAE and UK . Job Description: Strategic Finance & Business Partnering Drive overall financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and business performance management.
Partner with founders/business heads on growth strategy, profitability, expansion planning, and capital allocation. Build scalable finance processes and controls aligned with aggressive retail expansion plans. Support decision-making through MIS, analytics, profitability analysis, and business insights.
IPO / Fund Raise / Investor Management Lead fundraising, due diligence, investor reporting, and financial readiness initiatives. Manage relationships with investors, PE/VC stakeholders, bankers, auditors, and advisors. Prepare board decks, investor presentations, valuation support, and business performance reports.
Drive audit readiness, governance, compliance, and financial discipline in a high-growth environment. Exposure to IPO preparation, pre-IPO governance, or institutional fundraising will be highly preferred. Retail Finance & Commercial Operations Manage finance operations across retail stores, omnichannel, inventory-heavy environments, and large SKU businesses.
Drive store-wise profitability, inventory controls, working capital optimization, and commercial efficiency. Partner with operations teams on store expansion, SOPs, cost management, and retail performance tracking. Ensure strong controls around merchandising, procurement, vendor management, and cash flow.
Financial Controls & Compliance Oversee accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, audits, treasury, and internal controls. Strengthen systems, automation, and finance governance processes suitable for scale. Ensure timely closure of books, reporting accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Team Leadership Build and mentor high-performing finance teams across corporate and retail operations. Drive a culture of ownership, agility, accountability, and business orientation. Job Requirements: CA qualified preferred. 15 25 years of experience in finance leadership roles within retail, consumer, lifestyle, fashion, luxury, D2C, or new-age consumer brands.
Strong preference for candidates who have seen scale-up journeys such as: 20 to 100+ stores & Managed Rapid multi-city expansion or High-growth retail or omnichannel environments. Experience in startup/scale-up ecosystems (Series A / Series B / PE-backed businesses) will be highly preferred. Exposure to investor relations, fundraising, board management, audits, and governance is critical.
Candidates from modern retail setups such as fashion, lifestyle, eyewear, beauty, luxury retail, high-SKU consumer businesses, or omnichannel brands preferred. Prior exposure to brands/environments similar to premium fashion, lifestyle, luxury, or consumer-tech retail ecosystems would be ideal. Strong commercial acumen with ability to balance growth and profitability.
