We are seeking an experienced GIS Data Specialist to support geospatial data creation, analysis, and management activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in GIS software, satellite image processing, remote sensing, and spatial data analytics. The role involves working with optical and microwave datasets, developing GIS databases, and delivering geospatial solutions for mapping and analytical projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, manage, and maintain GIS databases and geospatial datasets.Perform spatial analysis, data interpretation, and GIS-based reporting.Process and analyze satellite imagery, including optical and microwave datasets.Develop thematic maps, spatial models, and geospatial visualizations.Conduct crop mapping, weather-related GIS analysis, and remote sensing studies.Handle large-scale GIS datasets and ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency.Integrate multiple geospatial data sources for project requirements.Support GIS application development and automation workflows.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver geospatial solutions.Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project deliverables.Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of R and Python for geospatial data analysis and automation.Hands-on experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE).Expertise in Remote Sensing and Satellite Data Processing.Experience in Optical and Microwave Image Analysis.Proficiency in GIS software such as:ArcGISQGISERDAS ImagineENVIOther image processing toolsKnowledge of spatial databases and geospatial data management.Experience handling and processing large GIS datasets.Functional SkillsGIS data creation and maintenance.Spatial analysis and geospatial modeling.Crop mapping and weather-related GIS applications.Data validation, quality assurance, and data governance.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on agriculture, environmental, land-use, or weather-related GIS projects.Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in geospatial analytics.Experience in geospatial workflow automation and scripting.Familiarity with cloud-based geospatial platforms and big geospatial data processing.Key DeliverablesAccurate GIS databases and spatial datasets.High-quality thematic maps and geospatial reports.Reliable satellite imagery analysis outputs.Efficient GIS workflows and automated geospatial processes.Timely delivery of project-specific geospatial solutions.
