HR Manager

Join our dynamic, integrated agency group in the heart of Sydney CBD. Metropolis is a marketing consultancy for the property industry. As our HR Manager, you'll be working across our agency group (Metropolis, Charles Lloyd & CampaignXpress) as the heartbeat of our team - partnering closely with leadership to build a positive, inclusive and high‑performing workplace culture, while owning the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 5+ years' HR or People & Culture experience, ideally gained within a creative, agency, or professional services environment, who is confident advising and influencing senior leadership as a trusted partner to the business.

We know job titles vary between companies, so here's what this role looks like for us - and what we are looking for:

A typical week includes:

• Championing our agency group's values and culture: monitoring team morale, running our staff engagement survey and partnering with our Organic Social team to showcase our people and attract top talent.
• Managing the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, 90‑day plan reviews, probation and offboarding. Plus maintaining all P&C documentation, contracts, policies and the employee handbook.
• Leading our Rewards & Recognition platform and Wellness Matters initiative and overseeing our EAP account so every team member knows how to access support.
• Supporting recruitment activities: writing job ads, screening applicants, coordinating interviews and managing key recruiter partnerships and fees when needed.
• Partnering with agency leaders on role design, succession planning and team structure, plus managing the annual training budget and individual development plans.
• Keeping the business compliant and current: tracking changes to employment law across NSW, VIC, QLD and/or Australia and delivering regular training to leaders on people risk and best practice.

Our ideal person:

• Has 5+ years' experience in a People & Culture or HR role, ideally within a creative, agency or professional services environment
• Has a solid understanding of HR practices, compliance and people management frameworks
• Is warm, emotionally intelligent and a trusted confidant across the team and leadership
• Confidently advises and influences senior leadership, acting as a strategic partner to the business
• Is highly organised, detail‑oriented and proactive with a solutions‑focused mindset
• Leads with empathy and fairness, balancing business needs with employee wellbeing
• Is confident working autonomously and can manage a broad remit with flexibility
