Overview
Saputo is seeking an IT Senior Project Manager to join our IT PMO team. As a member of the Project Management Office, you will be accountable for planning, managing, and successful completion of large‑scale, complex implementations (Digital, SAP, SaaS) and smaller IT initiatives that impact business processes across our global divisions. Your work will involve defining project approach, translating business objectives into delivery strategies, and maintaining strong relationships with IT leaders, business stakeholders, and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the project approach from concept through execution, including translating ambiguous business objectives into a clear delivery strategy, work breakdown structure, staffing model, deliverables, and integrated project plan. Establish scope, estimates, schedule, costs, assumptions, and external dependencies in environments where requirements may initially be undefined or evolving.
- Provide the Saputo IT Leadership Team with weekly progress reports, including risks, issues, decisions, and recommendations for adjustments. Ensure timely communication of relevant project information to all affected team members.
- Apply strong leadership skills, provide guidance and support to optimize the performance of a diverse team, lead through influence, and ensure adherence to quality assurance processes.
- Manage internal and external relationships and coordinate work between different teams globally.
- Work effectively in a multi‑site delivery model.
- Lead end‑to‑end management of third‑party vendors and system integrators, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, commercial governance, and oversight of delivery performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Possess a well‑rounded Project Management knowledge base and the ability to quickly deliver projects across various applications and platforms.
- Coach and support other IT resources assuming Project Lead roles, and contribute to the development of PMO processes, tools and methodology.
How you will make contributions that matter
- Work planning and deliverable management: adapt PMO work‑planning processes and tools, maintain work plans, monitor actuals, and resolve cost and schedule variances.
- Scope management: operationalize the pre‑defined PMO scope management process to control project scope and requirements; present scope changes for approval to the Saputo IT leadership committee.
- Performance and reporting management: use PMO processes, tools and techniques to generate and distribute project progress and status information timely.
- Resource management: manage project resources, define roles, create staffing plans, and obtain appropriate skilled resources.
- Issue/risk management and quality: capture, track, resolve or escalate project risks and issues and ensure alignment to schedule, resources, cost and quality.
- Vendor and system integrator management: lead relationships, define statements of work, support contract negotiations, establish governance, manage finances and change controls, and ensure vendor performance meets contractual and project expectations.
- Define and manage required quality gates for quality planning, assurance and control; obtain deliverable sign‑offs from stakeholders.
- Contribute to improvement of PMO tools and processes, coach and support IT resources in developing their project management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Project Management certification or completion of a recognized curriculum (e.g., PMP, Prince2).
- SCRUM Master certification or experience in hybrid or agile environments (asset).
- Minimum 12 years of total IT project delivery experience, including 5 years leading full delivery lifecycle and managing a diverse team.
- Experience delivering SAP projects (asset).
- Experience delivering large projects or programs with complex application delivery.
- Experience managing multiple system integrators.
- Experience managing global deployments (asset).
- Experience delivering AI use cases from MVP to full scale deployment (asset).
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to motivate in a team‑oriented environment and provide updates to Director and VP levels; adept at building relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate 20 or more shared resources and collaborate at all levels; strong people‑management skills including delegation, motivation, coaching, and conflict management.
- Ability to operate in complex, fast‑paced project environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work‑streams, teams, business divisions, geographies, time zones and languages.
- Experience managing packaged software and SaaS implementation methodologies; cross‑functional exposure including manufacturing, supply chain and HR/Payroll (asset).
- Expert‑level proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel) and SharePoint.
- French/English bilingual competency (asset).
- Product management knowledge or working experience (asset).

Salary
- Salary range: $106,870 to $140,270 per year, commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
