About the Role

We're looking for a junior bookkeeper in India to handle day-to-day data entry and bookkeeping in Xero. This is an entry-level role with support from our Singapore office -you will not be managing the books on your own. Accuracy and reliability matter more than experience.

What You'll Do

• Record daily transactions in Xero - sales (including generating customer invoices), purchases, expenses, receipts and payments
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and flag anything that doesn't match
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable; track invoices and outstanding balances
• Handle multi-currency entries (mainly SGD and USD)
• Upload and file supporting documents so records stay audit-ready
• Chase missing paperwork and follow up on incomplete information
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, and compile data for our accountants
• Catch up on the 2026 data entry backlog from January onward

What We're Looking For

• 0–2 years' experience in bookkeeping, accounts or data entry - recent graduates welcome
• Xero Advisor Certification. If you don't have it yet, you can complete it after the interview and before starting - it's free and online
• Foundation in basic accounting principles: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliation
• Comfortable in Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, reconciliations) and/or PPT nice to have.
• Fluent written and spoken English, and able to collaborate remotely
• Careful with detail, dependable with deadlines, and open to feedback
• Able to work steadily without close supervision, and discreet with confidential information
• A personal computer and a reliable internet connection

Nice to Have

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field (B.Com, M.Com or similar)
• Exposure to invoicing, AP/AR, or Xero
• Interest in the marine or logistics industry

The Details

• Fully remote from anywhere in India
• Part-time (15–20 hours/week) or full-time. Initially may need overtime for the 2026 catch up.
• Some overlap with Singapore hours (GMT+8) preferred
• A confidentiality agreement will apply, as you'll have access to company financial records
