Role Title: Lead Business Analyst - Analytics.
Position Summary:
The Lead Business Analyst / Data Analyst Analytics partners with business and technology teams to analyse requirements and support the design and delivery of enterprise analytics solutions. The Lead Data Business Analyst works cross-functionally to understand and document source system data and data context changes. The Data Business Analysts support our data engineers in maintaining accurate databases, clarifying data relationships for users, and supporting leadership with strategic insights from their analysis.
The role is essential in requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and implementation activities, and may influence solution direction and ensure alignment with business needs. This position may also manage complex projects or coordinate the work of other analysts as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in system requirements definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of our Data Analytics data assets.
- Solicits data requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or existing system documentation or procedures. Uses industry standard analysis techniques to uncover data requirements, such as data flow modeling, use-case analysis, and workflow analysis.
- Must be able to provide in-depth analysis for gap analysis, data troubleshooting, analysis or to answer specific data questions.
- Documents the results of analysis activities using the appropriate templates and tools and is a key contributor in the definition of templates and tools are.
- Must be able to translate business requirements into specific data requirements, including the types of data needed, data sources, data granularity, and frequency of data updates.
- Makes recommendations and influences outcomes regarding necessary changes on deliverables expected from other groups.
- Initiates and leads work with other development groups to ensure an integrated business solution.
- Assumes the responsibility of project manager for projects where the scope is at a significant level of complexity. These projects could be new initiatives or modifications to an existing data base. Coordinates the efforts of other Business Analysts within assigned projects.
Skill and Experience:
- 6 years of experience required to perform essential job functions.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Expert knowledge of techniques and tools utilized in functional design, data analysis, and data flow diagramming.
- Strong understanding of relational and dimensional databases and ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis and validation.
- Knowledge of the business current and planned technological environment and modern data integration practices.
- Experience using AI tools for data analysis.
- Experience gathering requirements, functional design, and working with business processes.
- Proven ability to work in technical environments that use tools involved in data flow diagramming, data analysis, issue tracking, and documentation and presentation.
- Proven experience with managing projects of significant scope and complexity with project teams consisting of 5 individuals.

Must Have Skills:
Required: SQL, Excel, Lucidcharts or Visio (any dataflow diagramming tool), Azure DevOps.
Good to Have Skills:
Preferred: Power BI.
Education and Certifications:
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree.
