Lead Software Engineer

Lead Software Engineer (Python) | Up to £110,000–£140,000 | London (Hybrid) High growth FinTech breaking into new markets and are now building out new teams to support this expansion. You will be a hands-on technical leader, owning architecture and delivery while still contributing deeply to backend development, system design, and platform reliability. This is a critical hire, you will lead a team of engineers while helping to define engineering standards, improve system performance, and ensure the platform scales reliably as the business grows.

The environment is fast-paced, collaborative and ownership-driven, with a strong emphasis on pragmatic engineering, delivery, and continuous improvement. Stack: Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, Docker, Kubernetes What do you need? Strong commercial experience in Python engineering Proven experience leading engineers Domain experience across FinTech, Insurance, Trading, Banking etc Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs and production services What do you get?
