About the Company / The Opportunity:
We are a publicly traded growing technology company. We are seeking a Technology & IP Counsel to join a talented legal team supporting innovative software and technology businesses. This role offers broad exposure to cutting-edge legal issues involving software, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and emerging technologies while partnering closely with engineering and product leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Advise internal stakeholders on a wide range of technology, software, AI, privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property matters
- Structure, draft, review, and negotiate commercial and technology agreements
- Counsel business teams on legal risks associated with emerging technologies and evolving regulatory requirements
- Partner with engineering, product, and commercial teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Develop internal policies and best practices related to technology, AI, and intellectual property
- Support intellectual property strategy, protection, and enforcement initiatives
- Coordinate with outside counsel on specialized legal matters
Must-Have Skills:
- Juris Doctor (JD), outstanding academic credentials in law school
- 4+ years of technology law experience, with significant experience at a large law firm
- Strong background negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Experience advising on software licensing, SaaS, cloud technologies, and software development matters
- Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, intellectual property, data privacy, and cybersecurity issues
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- In-house experience
- Experience advising on open-source software, APIs, or emerging technologies
- Exposure to international technology transactions or cross-border legal matters
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
