Job Title: Senior Civil Litigation Attorney

Position Overview

• A well-established Am Law law firm is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its Albuquerque, New Mexico office.
• The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of general civil litigation experience and a strong background handling matters from inception through resolution.
• General civil litigation experience is required, Insurance defense experience is plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Handle discovery, including written discovery, depositions, and related proceedings.
• Develop case strategy and work toward favorable outcomes for clients.
• Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals on complex litigation matters.
• Maintain responsibility for case management, deadlines, and overall litigation strategy.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active New Mexico Bar admission and in good standing.
• 7+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Insurance defense experience is a strong plus.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• Trial experience is preferred.

Work Arrangement

The firm prefers candidates who are open to working in a hybrid capacity and can occasionally come into the Albuquerque office. However, fully remote arrangements may be considered for an exceptionally qualified candidate.
