Job Description
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Linux/Unix with a minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting and managing enterprise-level operating systems, with a strong emphasis on Linux environments deployed on both physical servers and hypervisors. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) team, as well as network engineers, database administrators (DBAs), and Wintel engineers, to ensure a stable and resilient operating environment that meets all contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
Key responsibilities:Administer and optimize server performance.Perform 24 x 7 stand-by for service contract and maintenance services in rotating basis for critical production systems, ensuring high availability and system health.Coordinate with vendors and support team on problem resolution, implementation issues and upgrades.Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.Deliver technical assistance for application and hardware issues.Manage storage provisioning and expansion.Ensure timely application of security patches and OS updates.Perform user administration tasks.Support backup and disaster recovery operations using enterprise backup system.Provision and manage LUNs using Pure Storage.
Project Specific Expertise Needed:1. Enterprise OS Management (RHEL/Linux):System configuration, maintenance, and troubleshootingPerformance tuning and optimizationFile system management and storage allocation2. Directory Services & Authentication:LDAP and Kerberos configuration and managementIdentity management implementation3.
Patch & Update Management:Experience with Red Hat Satellite or similar toolsPlanning and execution of system updates4. OS Security & Compliance:OS hardening based on CIS benchmarksSecurity patching and compliance auditing5. Monitoring & Management Tools:Deployment of system monitoring agentsPerformance monitoring and troubleshooting6.
Automation & Scripting:Use scripting for automation and task scheduling7. Virtualization & Cloud:Experience with hypervisors and virtual machinesKnowledge of Microsoft Azure, load balancers, firewalls, and OS clustering8. Backup & Disaster Recovery:Implementation of OS-level backup solutionsDisaster recovery planning and testing9.
Storage Technologies:Familiarity with Pure StorageLUN provisioning and management
Requirements:Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux Server administration, implementation & Troubleshooting, esp. REHL.Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) is preferred.Experienced in Linux clustering & VM level Linux cluster.Experience in OS installation, configuration and fine tuning, security hardening, system audit.Experience in ITIL process - Incident management, Change management, Configuration management.Good experience in automating with Shell scripting and ansible.Basic experience in public clouds such as AWS & Azure is preferred.
