Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) - Ballymena - £20/hr - £22.77/hr Shifts - Monday - Friday Week 1 - 4am-12.30pm Week 2 - 12pm-8.30pm Industry: Food Manufacturing The Role: We are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join a busy and fast-paced food manufacturing environment in Ballymena. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a stable Monday to Friday role within a well-established company. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime Diagnose faults and complete repairs on production and packaging equipment Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with food hygiene standards Work closely with production teams to maximise efficiency and output Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Assist with installations and project work when required Requirements Time-served engineer or equivalent, with a mechanical bias Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, and production equipment Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous Good understanding of health & safety procedures What's on Offer Competitive hourly rate of £20.00 - £22.77 per hour Monday to Friday working pattern Stable long-term opportunity Supportive working environment Opportunity to join a growing food manufacturing business
