Job Description
Job Purpose: This role is responsible for driving statutory, sustainability, and ethical compliance across stores, corporate offices, vendors, sampling units, and warehouses. The role ensures robust systems for due diligence, safety, and internal audit, while advancing a culture of compliance through training and awareness initiatives. Through proactive monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement, the role safeguards business integrity, operational excellence, and employee wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Execute compliance calendars for sustainability and due diligence, including ERT and EHS training, meetings, and workshops. Ensure all employees receive POSH training, maintain monthly dashboards for management, and oversee timely closure of POSH cases as per defined policies.
- Handle disciplinary cases by conducting inquiries, preparing and maintaining relevant documentation such as enquiry reports and Minutes of Meeting (MOM), and issuing disciplinary notices including show-cause notices, warning letters, and termination letters in compliance with company policies.
- Plan and conduct internal compliance audits for vendors, sampling units, warehouses, and retail stores on a monthly or quarterly basis. Identify gaps through audits, ensure corrective actions are implemented within defined timelines, and drive continuous improvement in compliance scores.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive compliance dashboards for vendors, stores, corporate offices, sampling units, and warehouses. Share dashboards with management on a regular basis and ensure timely updates to reflect additions or deletions of stores and compliance records.
- Implement safety awareness and training calendars for all units. Monitor completion of safety checklists, conduct monthly safety audits, and share dashboards with management to track progress and compliance.
- Ensure timely display and updating of statutory abstracts and notices across all stores, offices, sampling units, and warehouses. Manage registration, renewal, amendment, or closure of licenses and registrations, handle notices under applicable labour acts, and drive end-to-end closure of violation cases as per policies.
- Organize periodic compliance awareness programs for store managers and vendors, including quarterly refreshers and statutory compliance training. Track participation, evaluate effectiveness, and foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
- 8+ years in compliance, audit, or legal management, preferably in retail or apparel industry.
