The Opportunity
This role is a dynamic leadership opportunity responsible for driving high-quality audit and assurance services across a diverse client portfolio. Leading and mentoring a high-performing team, this role plays a key part in developing talent through coaching, delegation, and hands‑on guidance, while fostering a collaborative and growth‑focused culture.
As a trusted advisor to clients, you will build strong strategic relationships and deliver valuable insights that support confident business decision‑making. The role oversees business operations including workflow management, workforce planning, budgets, and billing, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest professional standards.
Combining commercial acumen with technical expertise, this role analyses and interprets complex financial information to assess organisational performance, identify risk, and provide meaningful recommendations that help clients strengthen their financial position and achieve long‑term success.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a portfolio of client engagements, acting as the primary relationship contact and trusted advisor.
- Oversee team workflow, ensuring assignments are completed accurately, on time, within budget, and in line with firm standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify risks, issues, and opportunities proactively, implementing solutions and escalating matters where required.
- Manage operational responsibilities including workflow planning, invoicing, reporting, and resource allocation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and high‑quality service delivery.
- Mentor, coach, and support team members to drive performance, capability development, and engagement.
- Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing technical and non‑technical guidance to direct reports.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development initiatives to build a high‑performing and collaborative team culture.
- Promote knowledge sharing and lead by example, demonstrating company values and professional behaviours.
What We Are Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or Business.
- Extensive experience in audit and assurance leadership, with a strong background in managing teams and client engagements.
- Strong knowledge of Australian and International Accounting Standards and Auditing Standards.
- Proven ability to lead projects, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver commercially successful outcomes.
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Experience in people leadership, workflow management, budgeting, and performance management.
- Highly developed relationship management skills with the ability to build strong connections across clients, teams, and professional networks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technologies.
- Completion or progression towards your CA or CPA qualification.
- Valid unrestricted working rights.
