Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and governance-focused Sr manager/Manger - Accounts to lead the accounting function of a listed manufacturing organization. The role carries end-to-end responsibility for accounting operations, supervision of Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger Accounting, statutory and internal audits, regulatory compliance, and strengthening of financial controls. The incumbent will ensure timely and accurate financial closures.

Responsibilities
Periodic Financial ClosingEnsure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing of books.Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, SEBI (LODR) requirements, and internal accounting policies.
Ledger Scrutiny & Accounting Entry ApprovalConduct periodic scrutiny of general ledgers and sub-ledgers.Ensure all accounting corrections, provisions, accruals, and adjustments are completed prior to period closure.Act as the approving authority for accounting entries in SAP, including journal entries, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.Ensure proper documentation, audit trail, and compliance for all postings.Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
Accounting SupervisionOversee Accounts Payable (AP) operations including vendor accounting, invoice processing, payment runs, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Audit, Compliance & Risk ManagementCoordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax auditors, and regulatory authorities.Ensure timely completion of audits and closure of audit observations.Ensure compliance with Companies Act, SEBI regulations, GST laws, and other applicable financial regulations.Identify financial and compliance risks and implement mitigation measures.
Financial Governance & ControlsEstablish, implement, and monitor adherence to financial policies, SOPs, and financial controls.Strengthen internal controls across accounting processes.Ensure robustness of documentation standards and audit trails in line with listed-entity governance requirements.
Leadership & Team ManagementDefine roles, set performance expectations, and drive accountability within the team.Build a culture of compliance, discipline, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Educational QualificationsChartered Accountant (CA) - preferably cleared in the first attemptBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Experience7-8 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial controlMandatory experience in a listed company environmentMandatory experience in a manufacturing organizationHands-on exposure to SAP-driven finance environments
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Ind AS, Companies Act, SEBI (LODR), GST, and financial reportingProven experience in AP, AR, and taxation supervisionAdvanced proficiency in SAP, including approval workflows and financial controlsStrong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skillsExcellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication abilitiesAbility to operate effectively under tight timelines and regulatory scrutiny typical of listed entities
