Master Scheduler

Overview

We are currently hiring for a Master Scheduler to join our operations team in Ottawa. The Master Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth production flow and timely deliveries. You will input orders in the management system and produce and maintain a master schedule consistent with production plans.

Responsibilities

• Act as the central liaison among Program Management, Engineering, Contracts, and Manufacturing; coordinate all aspects of the production schedule to meet customer demands with precision and efficiency.
• Develops and maintains Business Area forecasts; develop a thorough understanding of critical manufacturing resources and monitor capacity throughout the cycle.
• Adhere to and develop evolving Master Production Scheduling Policies and Divisional Standard Procedures for Master Scheduling.
• Notify management of potential plan delinquencies; apply appropriate capacity planning (rough cut) to expose long-term resource problems.
• Respond to Quotation Requests (QRs) by preparing functional CCPs (Company Program Plans) and extracting relevant information from appropriate departments.
• Use QR Template to ensure all QRs consider all equations.
• Coordinate manufacturing delivery commitments to Program Management and Contracts.
• Analyze customer demand to ensure relevant manufacturing deliverables are correct and delivery dates are attainable.
• Monitor and control changes to Order Policies and Lead Time Policies.
• Attend or instruct Production Controller to attend Configuration Control Board to ensure ECOs are correctly classified and written; analyze with Production Controller the impact of Class I ECOs on the MPS commitment.
• Work with Manufacturing Ops Management and Planning Staff to prepare and provide schedules for project start-up and monitor progress of supporting elements (test equipment programs, hardware, processes, fixtures, etc.).
• Monitor Master Production Schedules for potential slippages; communicate with Material Planner and Production Controller; alert management of delinquencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Advise Production Controllers to apply input/output analysis to critical bottlenecks; coordinate recovery plans when necessary; chair meetings to resolve issues beyond Material Planner and Production Controller mandate; maintain minutes and action items.
• Prepare and distribute regular Project Status Summaries; attend Project Review and Production Reviews as required.
• Collaborate with FG shippers to ensure goods are shipped and issued timely and accurately.
• Maintain and present relevant performance measures within the Manufacturing Organization.
• Act as backup for other Master Production Schedulers when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Material Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related discipline
• 5 years experience in Production Control Planning, scheduling and monitoring with an MRPII system
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
