Role Overview
The Scheduler / Planner plays a key role in supporting program execution at Ultra Maritime by creating and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules, assisting with work breakdown structures, and providing schedule analysis including variances, critical path, resource impacts, and what‑if scenarios. Working with Program Managers, functional teams, and stakeholders, this role ensures schedule integrity, highlights risks and dependencies, and supports governance, customer reviews, and overall program performance.
Responsibilities
- Assist Program Managers to organize and facilitate project planning activities.
- Develop and maintain the Program Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Organize, design, develop, and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for projects and report on milestone status.
- Perform analysis of the IMS to include schedule variance analysis, critical path analysis, resource analysis, and what‑if scenarios.
- Monitor schedule performance, including weekly and monthly variances.
- Coordinate with program functional teams, integrated project teams, and other stakeholders (Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.) to review and understand their schedule inputs/updates and address identified gaps or issues.
- Serve as the program’s schedule management subject‑matter expert and work with the program team and stakeholders to interpret and address schedule related items.
- Proactively identify and communicate schedule dependencies, impacts and risks to the program management team.
- Participate and support the program’s risk management and governance process.
- Develop custom IMS views and reports as required.
- Support program and customer reviews.
Nationality Requirements
Eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes delivered for our customers.
Required Skills
- Degree or Diploma in a technical discipline.
- Strong experience with MS Project or other scheduling software.
- 3+ years of scheduling experience for product development or manufacturing in the Electronics, aerospace, or defense industry.
- Capable of acquiring NATO Secret security clearance and a Canadian Controlled Goods assessment to the satisfaction of the company.
Desired Skills
- Solid understanding of program scheduling processes and methodologies (PMP, PMI‑SP).
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills and ability to coordinate with multiple project teams.
- Experience applying integrated cost/schedule and critical path methodologies within an Earned Value Management (EVM) environment.
- Experience scheduling medium/large complexity government and commercial development programs.
- Experience managing project schedules with large subcontractor content.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, primarily to domestic locations.
