Role Title: Plant HR / HR Business Partner - ManufacturingLocation: Maraimalai Nagar (Chengalpattu) Experience: 8-15 years (preferred in manufacturing/plant setup)
Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Plant HR professional to manage end-to-end HR operations at the manufacturing unit. The role involves handling employee relations, statutory compliance, workforce planning, and Industrial Relations, Union & Legal, ensuring smooth plant operations while aligning with business goals.Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations & IR (Industrial Relations)Manage shopfloor employee relations and maintain a positive work environmentHandle grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolutionCoordinate with unions (if applicable) and support negotiationsDrive engagement initiatives for blue-collar workforce 2. Statutory ComplianceEnsure compliance with labor laws such as:Factories ActPF, ESI, Bonus, GratuityShops & Establishment (if applicable)Coordinate audits and maintain statutory recordsLiaise with government authorities 3. Recruitment & Workforce PlanningManage hiring for blue-collar and staff rolesCoordinate with contractors/vendors for manpower supplyPlan workforce based on production requirements 4. Payroll & Attendance ManagementOversee attendance, shift schedules, and leave recordsSupport payroll inputs (overtime, incentives, etc.)Ensure accuracy in wage processing 5. Performance & TrainingDrive performance management process for plant employeesIdentify training needs and coordinate L&D programsConduct induction and onboarding for new hires 6. HR OperationsMaintain employee records and HRMIS systemsImplement HR policies and processesSupport audits, reporting, and documentation
Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of labor laws & statutory compliance.Experience in industrial relations (IR) and union handlingExposure to manufacturing/plant HR operationsGood stakeholder management skillsAbility to handle blue-collar workforceStrong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Preferred QualificationsMBA/MSW in HR or equivalent. Experience in Manufacturing, heavy engineering, FMCG, or similar industries
