Project Director on Site - Museum ProjectThe Project Director on Site plays a pivotal role in overseeing and delivering museum projects, ensuring they align with regional cultural heritage, architectural practices, and operational requirements. This leadership role demands a blend of strategic planning, hands-on execution, and a nuanced understanding of the complexities of the stakeholder dynamics.Key Responsibilities1. Project Leadership:o Spearhead the project's end-to-end execution, ensuring alignment with the museum's cultural vision and strategic goals.o Serve as the primary on-site authority, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards.2.
Stakeholder Coordination:o Act as the bridge between Client, Contractors, Curation Committee, architects.o Facilitate collaboration between international and domestic teams, respecting cultural nuances and practices.3. Budget and Resource Management:o Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost optimization.4. Compliance and Permitting:o Ensure adherence to environmental impact guidelines.5.
Quality Assurance:o Ensure high standards of craftsmanship, especially for culturally significant installations and exhibits.o Supervise the integration of modern technologies with traditional techniques to enhance visitor experience.6. On-Site Supervision:o Maintain a constant presence on-site to oversee daily operations and resolve challenges.o Conduct regular inspections to ensure progress aligns with project specifications and museum standards.7. Risk Management and Problem-Solving:o Anticipate potential challenges, supply chain disruptions, or regulatory delays.o Implement mitigation strategies and adapt to evolving project needs.8.
Reporting and Documentation:o Provide regular updates to museum leadership and stakeholders, including clients and ministry.o Maintain detailed records of progress, challenges, and resolutions for accountability.Key Qualifications and Skills• Proven experience managing large-scale museum, heritage, or cultural infrastructure projects in the Indian subcontinent.• Deep understanding of regional architectural styles, traditional materials, and artisanal techniques.• Proficiency in project management tools, budgeting, and scheduling software.• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams, including contractors, artisans,etc.• Familiarity with integrating cutting-edge technology, such as climate control and digital exhibits, into culturally significant spaces.• Bachelor's or advanced degree in project management, architecture, civil engineering, museum studies, or a related field.• Fluency in English and regional languages is a strong asset for effective stakeholder engagement.
