The Project Engineer hired into this role will coordinate across multiple departments and functions, within and external to the project, to lead the teams for various projects across Arnold AFB.Open to external or internal candidatesJob SummaryThe Project Engineer supports the development of technical scope, requirements, estimates, and schedules associated with assigned projects. This role will synchronize complex engineering activities—including technical planning and design—by bridging Design, Systems, and Test Operations with Project manager and essential non-engineering functions.
The Project Engineer will also have Supervisory duties, overseeing engineers and designers/drafters associated with the production of mechanical engineering scope.Job Duties:Responsible for delivery of the engineering deliverables; plans, assigns, and directs engineering tasks on the project. Has technical and Supervisory responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.Manages employee performance and results; utilizes company systems and tools to document results in a timely and consistent manner.Communicates information that assists effective management and decision making to applicable managementWorking with Project Controls, may support Primavera P6 to establish and maintain individual project schedules and unify them into integrated schedules to provide BNH management visibility into program resource allocations for decision making.Coordinates with Project Controls and the engineering team to create, manage, maintain and update schedules in a complex project environment.Develops work breakdown structures; Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules; and resource, cost and budget plans.Supports Project Control in performing critical path analysis and development of timelines for completion of tasks, measuring the deliverable work packages of the project against the project plan.Communicates schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and time constraints to the project team.Supports the preparation of progress reports, standardized reporting procedures and the monitoring of overall project performance.Communicates and publishes plans to appropriate involved individuals to ensure each person understands the overall scope of the project and when tasks are required to be started and completed.Uses data gathering, management and analytical processes to predict, understand and constructively influence the time and cost outcomes of projects.It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. Perform other related duties as required.Basic Qualifications:BS degree in engineering or associated scientific discipline from an accredited college or university plus at least 5 years progressive and relevant technical work experienceMust be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area networkDue to Air Force Security requirements, U.S.
