Job Description
Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland’s Main Build Contractors have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (Joinery) to join the team. This role will be based in Dublin, and you would report to the head of operation/Managing director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of multiple joinery projects from design stage through to manufacture, installation, and final handover.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple joinery projects simultaneously from pre-construction to completion.
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes and track progress against milestones.
- Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and site installation teams.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, architects, designers, and contractors.
- Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Attend site and client meetings as required.
- Handle contract communications, variations, and change orders.
- Monitor project budgets and costs.
- Approve supplier and subcontractor payments in line with progress.
- Inform QS of possible variations.
- Work with the commercial team on cost control and reporting.
Technical & Production Coordination
- Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure buildability and cost efficiency.
- Liaise with the design and workshop teams to ensure accurate production output.
- Coordinate site surveys, measurements, and installation requirements.
- Ensure materials and manufacturing schedules align with installation programmes.
Health & Safety
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
- Review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
- Promote a strong safety culture across all projects and sites.
- Mentor and support junior project managers and coordinators.
- Coordinate internal teams across design, production, and installation.
- Assist in developing and improving project management processes.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in project management within joinery, fit-out, or construction.
- Proven experience managing bespoke joinery or interior fit-out projects.
- Experience managing multiple projects and site teams.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
Skills
- Excellent project planning and organisational skills.
- Strong leadership and team management ability.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Good understanding of joinery manufacturing and installation processes.
Software Requirements
- Must have experience using project management software such as Smartsheet, Procore, Paymo, and Microsoft Project.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Project reporting tools.
- Experience with document control systems and construction/project management platforms is desirable.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Joinery Experience, time served as a bench joiner or site carpenter.
- Full driving licence.
