Overview TheRegionalManagercarriesoperationalresponsibilityataregionallevelforallprojects and services in the geographical region assigned to them. The Regional Manager contributes to the development of strategies, policies and systems related to all aspects of Odyssey Social Care Operations, and to their implementation, so thatallregulatoryandprofessionalstandardsareadheredtoatalltimeswithintheirregion. They work with the other Regional Managers within the Senior Management Team of Odyssey Social Care to develop and maintain Odyssey Social Cares services to the highest standards nationally.
MainDutiesandResponsibilitiesYoung People/Clients Ensureatalltimesthatallclientsin OdysseySocialCaresservicesarelookedaftersafely, professionallyandinawaywhichensuresthattheyachievetheirmaximumpotential,inline with Odyssey Social Cares mission and vision. Responsibly to ensure that the specialist care framework is embedded in the practices and approaches of our care teams. Staff Ensurethatallstaffemployedby OdysseySocialCarearetreatedwithrespectandthattheir health, safety and wellbeing is safeguarded during their time at work.
That all teams within the region are supported and trained to carry out their role. DirectManagement Personally support, supervise and guide the direct reports for whom the postholder has responsibilityinawaywhichkeepsthemmotivated,committedandenthusiasticsothat they are equipped to consistently deliver high quality, child centred services. Onbehalfof theorganisation,holdtheSocialCare Managersintheirregionaccountablefor their performance, and the performance of their teams.
Providedirect support and assistancetothe Social Care Managers in the production of accurate,wellwrittenreportstosocialworkersandotherprofessionalsinvolvedwitha childs care, and their families where appropriate. Ensuringanappropriateenvironment Ensureatalltimesthathousesintheregionforwhichthepostholderisresponsibleare clean, welcoming, homely, warm and safe. in short, that they are fit for purpose. Ensure that maintenance logs are kept up to date for each house, signing off on work completedwhenundertakingauditsandvisitinghouses.Holdingthemaintenanceservice accountable for their work by reporting, in writing, to the maintenance manager and Director, Operations if work is unsatisfactory or incomplete.
TeamManagement Lead a cohesive, focused and effective staff team in the delivery of high quality services whichcomplyatalltimeswithregulationsandstandards.Managetheteameffectivelyand appropriately and ensure all staff in the region are properly managed and trained, so they are equipped to deliver child care which meets and exceeds the regulatory standards and requirements.Operatea proactive style of management, spotting andsolving problemsin advance before they become a big problem. Fullyparticipateintheregional24houron-callservice,sothatstaffintheregionhave,atall times, access to direct help and support by telephone. WhenorganisationalchangeprocessesareinitiatedatBoardandSeniorManagementTeam level, lead the change process at regional level to its successful conclusion.
FinancialControl Takeresponsibilityfortheregionalbudget,ensuringthatspendingiskeptwithinapproved limits at all times. Ensurebudgetsinallregionsofthehouseservicesareadheredto,andthatappropriateand effective financial controls are in place, and are operated according to procedures and in line with good financial management practice and good governance. Withinbudget,andinatimelyfashion,inconsultationwiththeDirector,Operationsandthe Director, HR ensure that all services in the region have an appropriate, qualified and balanced staff team with sufficient relief to deliver the service safely.
Within budget, and at all times, ensure that all houses in the region have appropriate buildings,furniture,transport,foodandotherresourcessothatthechildrencanbecared for safely and properly, and staff are safe and treated with respect by the Company. MeetingStandards ActivelyengageinOdysseySocialCaresauditingandperformancemanagementsystem, operating it appropriately. Undertake monthly audits in all houses in the postholders region,accordingtooursystemsandprocesses,andsigningalldocumentationasnecessary.
Ensure Unit Managers follow through on recommendations from these audits. Ensurethatallhousesintheregion,atalltimes,receiveexcellentfeedbackfromHSE monitoring officer visits and inspections. Ensureatalltimesthatregulatoryandproceduralrequirements(ChildCare,Health& Safety, HR etc.) are met by all services in the region.
Conductgrievanceanddisciplinaryinvestigationsandhearings,asappropriate,accordingto procedures outlined in the Odyssey Social Cares Policies and Procedures and in line at all times with advice from the Director, HR, HR advisers and insurers. External Relationships DevelopandmaintainpositiveandeffectiverelationshipswithHSEinspectors,Monitoring Officers, Team Leaders, Garda Superintendents and Inspectors, CAMHS teams, School Principals and all other key stakeholders in the delivery of services to our children. GeneratenewbusinessfortheCompanybytheeffectiveuseofrelationshipswithkey stakeholders and potential customers.
Supportthedevelopmentofnewservicesasrequired,helpingtosetupbuildings,torecruit and induct new managers, to achieve Registration and to generate clients for the service. Reporting Provide written and verbal reports, as required, to the Directors and Board and other managers as required by the Directors. Ensure all statutory and standard reports are made totheTUSLAandotherprofessionals,asrequired,inthetimesrequiredandto thestandard required.

DeputizefortheClientServicesManagerwhennecessary,representingtheinterestsand views of Odyssey Social Care professionally and appropriately. WhistleBlowing,Confidentiality,CompanyWelfare: Inlinewithourdutyofcarebothtoyoungpeopleandtostaff,bringtotheattentionofa Director any matter which may pose a risk to the safety or well being of a child, staff member or the company,according to our whistle blowing policy.
Encouragewhistleblowinginallstaff,accordingtothewhistleblowingpolicy,andreceive reportsfromstaffandmanagersasappropriate,actinguponthempromptlyandeffectively. Atalltimesmaintainconfidentialityinregardtothechildreninourcare,staffingmatters, financial matters, procedural matters and any other matters internal to the company. TakeresponsibilityatalltimesforthewellbeingoftheCompany,puttingitbeforepersonal, financial or other gain.
AnyOther Duties: Anyotherduties,withinthecompetenceofthepostholderthatmayberequired,reasonably, from time to time. PersonnelSpecification Qualifications: Essential: Managementdegreeorequivalent. Professional qualification in teaching, childcare, social work, social care, youth work or psychology (clinical, educational or counselling).
Experience: Essential: Atleast3yearsmanagementexperienceinaservicecompanyemployingmore than 100 staff Experienceinmarketing,sales,operationsmanagement,logistics,orHumanResource Management Atleast5yearsdirectexperienceofworkinginand/ormanagingservicestovulnerable children and young people. Experienceworkinginspecialistserviceswithyoungpeopleunder12 Extensiveexperienceofworkingwithyoungpeopleandattachmentdisorders. Experienceinpresentingandtrainingteams Competencies: Essential: Thispostrequiresahighlevelofliteracyandnumeracy; Thepostholdermustbea self-starter,abletodirectandorganisetheirownworkand priorities.The person must have excellent communication and motivation skills.
