Position Summary
The Regional Sales Director reports directly to the Senior Director of Provider Sales and will be responsible for prospecting, generating leads, qualifying opportunities, and securing new business within a territory of 40–50 large hospitals and health systems in the Atlantic Northeast. The role encompasses full‑cycle sales management in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment, with a focus on medical necessity solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- General management of the full sales cycle for a large regional territory, serving several hundred large hospital systems.
- Plan, qualify, obtain, and manage new and existing sales opportunities within a geographically defined territory to achieve and exceed business plans.
- Organize and orchestrate internal resources to obtain sales objectives.
- Facilitate required meetings for prospects and customers.
- Develop and deliver solution proposals and presentations, adjusting content based on audience, prospect needs, and industry dynamics.
- Provide accurate forecasts and pipeline tracking within the sales process.
- Meet and exceed established sales targets, including calls per day, meetings per month, closures, and revenue.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date data entry into the company’s CRM system and register leads and prospects.
- Attend all required meetings, training sessions, company events, and, occasionally, industry trade shows and conferences.
- Articulate product value proposition to prospective clients amid evolving business terrains.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies.
- Communicate effectively to deliver corporate goals, respond to market trends, and meet unexpected challenges in an independent, fast‑paced sales environment.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, and new developments, and recommend changes in products, service, and policy based on evaluated results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Minimum of five years of sales experience in the healthcare arena; healthcare IT sales experience preferred.
- Two to three years’ experience selling into IT, Revenue Cycle Management, and/or Hospital Operations.
- Self‑motivated, self‑directed, competitive, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proven prospecting, qualifying, value‑based demonstration, complex solution selling, proposal preparation, objection handling, and negotiation skills.
- Significant field travel is expected and required, up to approximately 75% of the time.
Working Environment and Travel Requirements
- Typical office administrative environment with minimal physical risks.
- Position requires little to moderate physical activity; primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting or movement up to 10 pounds.
- Travel to home offices in Tennessee for training.
