We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Research Scientist to support the design, development, and deployment of plasma diagnostic systems. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about experimental plasma physics, particularly in space propulsion, laboratory plasmas, and diagnostics.
- Design and develop plasma diagnostic probes (e.g., Langmuir probes, Faraday cups, RPAs)• Support setup, alignment, and calibration of diagnostics in lab and vacuum environments• Conduct in-depth literature reviews to support R&D efforts• Document experimental procedures, configurations, and test results• Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and scientific documentation• Maintain lab inventory, instrumentation logs, and safety compliance records• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues in data acquisition and signal conditioning• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on experimental campaigns
& • 2 -3 years of Experience /Bachelor's degree in Physics/ Applied Sciences, or a related field (high merit required)• Master's or PhD with relevant hands-on experience is a plus• Basic understanding of plasma physics and diagnostic techniques• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, vacuum systems, and data acquisition• Experience in technical documentation and scientific writing• Ability to interpret scientific literature and apply it to practical designs
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of tools like MATLAB, Python, or Origin is a plus• Hands-on experience in electronics assembly, soldering, or CAD (preferred)• Understanding of signal processing and instrumentation (analog/digital)• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Proactive problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn
