Role Description
This is a full-time role for Sales Lead – Embedded and Cross Sell Insurance for business sourced through Fatakpay platform. The role will be on-site, located in Mumbai.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, data-driven, and highly dynamic professional to spearhead the growth of our Insurance Embedded and Cross-Sell business lines. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maximizing the insurance attachment rate within the Fatakpay loan journey and scaling the cross-sell portfolio of sachet insurance products to existing customers through digital channels and tele-calling operations
You will own the complete customer lifecycle, from mapping the loan journey to defining the product mix and optimizing multi-channel conversions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the digital lending and NBFC business, digital customer acquisition and insurance sales, analytics and sales execution. This is a high-impact role requiring close collaboration with Product, Technology, Credit, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, and Insurance teams. The individual will be responsible for building a profitable and scalable embedded and cross-sell insurance portfolio through FatakPay's digital ecosystem and customer base.
Prior experience of digital insurance sales – preferably in insurance broking and/or lending business is mandatory
Key Responsibilities
1. Embedded and Cross-sell Insurance Strategy & Journey Optimization
- Maximize Attachment Rates: Own and drive the Core Attachment Rate (KPI) for insurance products embedded directly within the Fatakpay loan onboarding and disbursement journeys.
- Customer Journey Mapping: Deeply analyze the Fatakpay loan customer journey to identify friction points, optimal drop-in screens, and high-intent moments to present insurance solutions.
- UI/UX Collaboration: Partner with the Product and Tech teams to implement native, seamless, and frictionless single-click insurance opt-ins.
Digital & Performance Marketing Sales: Design data-led digital communication strategies to cross-sell insurance products to loan customers.
Tele-calling Engine Execution: Build, train, and optimize a high-performing tele-calling team to reach out to the Fatakpay customer base for higher-ticket or personalized cross-sell offerings.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Analytics
Insurer: Liaise with insurance companies to co-create custom, cost-effective sachet products and
negotiate competitive commissions and SLAs.
Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage customer loan data, repayment behavior, and demographic profiles to run predictive segmentations for targeted insurance cross-selling.
Funnel Optimization: Continuously monitor and report on the sales funnel—from impressions and clicks to quote generations and successful issuances
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Post Graduate degree in Business administration preferred. Additional insurance certifications preferred (e.g., Licentiate from III) or Agent/ SP examination passed.
- Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ plus experience in Insurance Distribution, Fintech, or Insurtech ecosystems, with a heavy focus on Embedded Insurance, Digital Sales and Tele-calling Sales. Prior experience of digital insurance sales.
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record of managing insurance attachments in digital lending,
NBFC, or banking environments. Proven experience in driving insurance sales through digital platforms and Tele-calling sales channels
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to use customer data and insights to
improve conversion and customer engagement. Highly data-oriented with the ability to look at a
loan funnel, identify drop-offs, and design A/B tests for insurance banners/prompts.
- Sales/Operations Leadership: Prior experience managing digital campaign tools as well as
scaling and driving performance out of a tele-calling sales team.
