Uniserve is seeking an experienced Seafreight Operations Team Leader to join our UniOcean team within the Chennai CGA Hub.
This role acts as the offshore lead for UniOcean activity, responsible for coordinating operational delivery, ensuring quality and compliance, and acting as the key point of contact for UK stakeholders. You will play a critical role in driving service excellence, managing priorities, and ensuring consistent, high-quality support across seafreight operations.

Key Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate UniOcean operational activity within the Chennai hubAllocate and prioritise workload to meet UK timelines and business needsOversee seafreight operations including job creation, consol management, and documentationEnsure all work is accurate, complete, and compliant with SOPs and regulatory requirementsAct as the primary point of contact for UK stakeholders, providing clear updates and resolving queriesManage operational issues, risks, and escalations to minimise service disruptionMonitor team performance, productivity, and service delivery metricsProduce and review reporting on volumes, task completion, and team utilisationDrive operational excellence and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and qualityCollaborate cross-functionally to optimise processes and service outcomes
What We're Looking For:Minimum 8 years' experience in seafreight operationsAt least 3 years' experience in a team leader or supervisory roleStrong knowledge of international logistics and supply chain operationsProven ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlinesExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage global stakeholdersHigh attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracyConfident problem-solver with the ability to make decisions under pressureExperience working with SOPs, compliance requirements, and operational reportingProficiency in Excel and operational tracking systemsDegree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (preferred)Willingness to work UK-aligned shifts and travel internationally if required
