Senior Accountant
REW
Job Description
REW is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant who seamlessly blends business curiosity with technical rigour. We’re searching for a hands-on Senior Accountant to join our small yet mighty Finance and Operations team. In this role, you’ll help keep the REW financial engine running smoothly - from day-to-day accounting and month-end close, to thoughtful analysis that adds context to the numbers.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you’ll help ensure business activity flows accurately through to the financials. You’ll bring a conscientious and curious mindset – maintaining accounting rigour and meeting deadlines, while raising flags when something needs review or an approach can be improved. The right fit is about far more than routine processing.
We’re looking for a collaborative problem-solver who enjoys getting into the details, working with teams across the business, and making an impact. If you like building better processes and supporting good decisions, you’ll no doubt love it here. Full-cycle Accounting Operations Own day-to-day accounting, including AP (invoice and expense processing) supported by a centralized AP team, and AR (invoice and payment receipt reconciliations).
Complete month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare internal monthly reporting packages with variance analysis. Budgeting and Forecasting Assist with annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting submissions.
Complete analysis on revenue, collections, expenses, and other operational finance items. Maintain and improve upon cash flow models. Revenue Recognition Support internal teams with billing and invoicing matters, with an understanding of the sales-to-revenue data flow.
Act as an internal control point for revenue-related processes, helping ensure accurate financial reporting and identifying potential revenue recognition items for compliance with IFRS 15. Prepare monthly commission calculations for review. Controls and Additional Responsibilities Act as a control point for coding accuracy, policy compliance, tax treatment, cut-off, and documentation.
Assist with audit requests, tax compliance filings, and IFRS analysis. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in accounting processes, controls, procedures, and documentation. Ad hoc requests as needed.
Who we hope to find. Strong IFRS knowledge, with CPA designation. Full-cycle accounting experience (3+ years) preferred.
Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is an asset. Experience in a tech, recurring revenue, or subscription-based environment preferred, including exposure to revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and AR reconciliations. Experience with tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Stripe, CRMs, or similar platforms is an asset.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with cross-functional teams. Who you are and your life at REW.
You have an ownership mindset and an ability to self-start, adapting as business needs change and managing multiple priorities simultaneously. You are passionate about personal and professional growth, seeking new knowledge and exploring the application of technologies. You thrive on sharing insights and knowledge with peers to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
You balance independent work and collaboration, contributing positively to team dynamics and company culture. Creativity is in your DNA. You run head-first at problems with real enthusiasm, always on the look-out for solutions that add value and make a positive impact on our people and the people we serve.
You are willing to work at least 3 days a week in-office at our Vancouver location. What we can offer you. Annual base salary for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
In addition to competitive compensation, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, the best equipment for you to do your best work, and awesome perks and team events to keep you connected. Hybrid role requiring a minimum number of days per week in our Olympic Village office. #J-18808-Ljbffr
