Location: Ottawa, ON, On-site (5 days per week) Language: Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken Background Check Requirement: Reference checks required About the Opportunity Altis Recruitment is partnering with a growing organization in the real estate sector to hire a Senior Accounting Clerk to support a high-volume, multi-entity finance environment. You will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity across a complex portfolio of entities.
Working closely with the Controller and a collaborative finance team, you will contribute to core accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close. Your Responsibilities You’ll prepare and post journal entries across multiple entities, supporting accurate and timely financial reporting. In this role, you’ll assist with month‑end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met with a high level of accuracy. You’ll perform detailed bank reconciliations across co‑mingled accounts and investigate discrepancies.
You’ll manage intercompany transactions and help maintain clean and accurate balances across entities. You’ll support high‑volume accounts receivable activities, including adjustments, credits, and transaction processing. You’ll assist with HST tracking and remittances while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Skills and Qualifications 3 to 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in a hands‑on role. Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end processes. Experience working in multi‑entity or high‑volume environments is preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems, with Yardi considered an asset. Knowledge of intercompany accounting and transactional workflows. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage competing priorities.
