Senior Electrical Engineer

Description

To act in a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer capacity in producing WSP engineering related project deliverables involved in Power Generation projects in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Electrical Engineer on design of power generation projects
• Lead and support Electrical Engineer on the design of renewable energy projects
• Lead and support Electrical Engineer on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
• Lead and support Electrical Engineer on federal electrical system upgrades
• Mentor and teach Junior Engineers
• Project proposal and budget development
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of detailed electrical design engineering experience, including calculations, equipment specifications, etc.
• 3+ years of relay coordination and schematic design
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• CAD, Microsoft Office, and ETAP or SKM software experience
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Engineering.
• Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
• Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
• 3+ years of detailed design engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is a plus
• 3+ years of owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is a plus
