The Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) is Singapore’s oldest independent think tank, established in 1962. Focused on regional and international issues, the SIIA bridges policymakers, private sector leaders, and experts to shape public discourse, inform policy, and drive societal progress. As a membership-based organization, it includes prominent individuals and leading corporations from Singapore and the region.
The SIIA is also a founding member of the ASEAN-Institutes of Strategic and International Studies (ASEAN-ISIS) network, furthering its reach and influence across Southeast Asia.
Role Description
The Senior Executive, Membership & Communications, supports SIIA’s membership engagement, communications, media outreach, and programme coordination. This role requires a proactive and organised individual who can strengthen member relations, support external outreach, and contribute to the effective delivery and promotion of SIIA’s programmes and events through strong communication and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
MembershipMaintain and regularly update the SIIA membership database and contact lists.Support the onboarding of new members and manage membership renewals.Provide timely support and respond to member enquiries.Support member engagement initiatives, including communications and activities aimed at strengthening member relations.Support SIIA’s events and programmes by managing invitations, registrations, and related logistics.Work closely with relevant departments to ensure membership-related programme and event requirements are well coordinated and delivered.
Communications & MediaAssist in the development of SIIA’s marketing and communications collaterals, including brochures, reports, digital materials, and other publicity content.Manage and update publicity channels, including social media platforms, website content, and email marketing, to ensure consistent, engaging, and effective messaging to members and wider audiences.Support the planning, development, and execution of media and communications strategies for SIIA’s programmes and events.Work with internal teams to identify and pursue media and press opportunities where appropriate.Assist in drafting and coordinating communications materials, including media advisories, press releases, event publicity, and announcements for SIIA’s programmes and events.Support the promotion and visibility of SIIA’s programmes and events across communications channels.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, International Relations, or a related field.2–4 years of relevant experience in membership management, communications, marketing, or stakeholder engagement.Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with digital communications tools, email marketing, website content management, and social media platforms.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Keen interest in Singapore, regional, and international affairs.Prior experience in membership management and media management is an advantage.
