Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Manager of Technology to drive our technology vision across both US and India operations. This is a senior leadership role suited for someone who can set strategy, work closely with organizational leaders, and manage a team of internal staff and external vendors — while remaining willing to contribute directly to development when needed.
Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Digital Transformation Define and execute the organization's technology roadmap aligned with educational and operational goals. Make architectural decisions ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve program delivery and operational efficiency. Partner with leadership teams across the US and India to translate business needs into technology solutions. Lead the modernization of the organizational website, ensuring scalable architecture and a strong user experience. 2.
Systems Integration & Automation Design and implement an API-first architecture to integrate systems such as ERPNext, website services, learning platforms, and operational tools. Evaluate and implement enterprise platforms and ensure systems support end-to-end organizational workflows. Identify opportunities to automate processes across finance, volunteer management, program operations, and reporting.
Evaluate and implement AI-enabled technologies to improve operational efficiency, analytics capabilities, and digital services while ensuring responsible use, data protection, and governance. 3. Software Engineering & Development Lifecycle Contribute to the development of critical components when needed and enforce high engineering standards through code reviews and best practices. Establish development lifecycle practices including version control, testing, deployment, and release management.
Implement monitoring and reliability practices to ensure system stability and performance. Design and maintain data architecture supporting reporting, analytics, and leadership dashboards. Maintain clear technical documentation including architecture, integrations, and operational procedures. 4.
Vendor & Team Management Manage technology vendors and development partners, ensuring delivery quality, scalability, and alignment with organizational needs. Build and lead a high-performing technology team and foster collaboration with program and operations teams. Oversee infrastructure reliability, cybersecurity practices, data protection, and disaster recovery planning.
Qualifications Required Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, system architecture, and software development. Architecture & Development: Strong experience designing scalable applications and complex system architectures across multiple technology stacks. Hands-on development experience with modern programming languages and frameworks.
Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience implementing cloud-based infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Data & APIs: Strong experience with database architecture, API development, and system integrations. Tools & Processes: Experience evaluating and implementing enterprise platforms such as ERP systems.
Familiarity with development lifecycle practices including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. Experience working with project and issue tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms. Security & Operations: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, data privacy practices, and system reliability.
Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across distributed teams and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple time zones. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience working with nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organizations. Familiarity with educational technology platforms such as learning management systems, student information systems, and Google Education tools. Experience building technology platforms supporting multi-country operations.
Experience implementing enterprise automation or digital transformation initiatives.
