Senior Mendix Developer (m/f/d) – Siemens Amadora, P11, PT
This full‑time on‑site position offers great opportunities for career growth and is part of Siemens Global Business Services (GBS). GBS supports Siemens units worldwide and external customers in accelerating business transformation into a sustainable and digital future. The GBS Western Europe and Africa Hub already has more than 1500 people from over 50 nationalities across 14 countries.
Responsibilities
- Interpret internal or external business issues and recommend solutions and best practices.
- Lead the team’s developers by example, acting as a mentor in the development craft.
- Define guidelines and establish and maintain high‑quality Mendix application standards.
- Keep the other developers engaged with the project you are working on.
- Communicate excellently and interpersonally with customers to help them find the right solution.
- Communicate with all levels, from C‑level executives and Enterprise Architects to Designers and Developers.
- Reach out to other teams and work towards alignment and overall continuous improvement.
- Act as a beacon of excellence and mentor junior colleagues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred).
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Ability to explain technical subjects to non‑technical people.
- Collaborative and positive attitude.
- Proven experience in developing and operating applications.
- Experience in integrations with APIs.
- Experience of Mendix.
- Knowledge and experience in most of the following areas:
- Web front‑end technology (HTML, JavaScript, React).
- Architecture patterns (Micro‑services, event‑driven, layered).
- Database technology (MSSQL, PostgreSQL).
- Common integration protocols (REST, SOAP, XML, HTTP).
- CI/CD.
- Cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes).
- Strong and confident technical decision‑making.
- Ability to work in diverse environments (multi‑cultural, multi‑country, geographically distributed teams).
- High attention to detail.
- Fluency in English is a must‑have.
