Job Description
Our client, an established main contractor in the construction sector is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects for key clients.
The role will focus on end-to-end project leadership, from early design coordination through to construction delivery and handover. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for high-value, repeat clients, ensuring consistent delivery, strong communication, and long-term relationship management.
This position requires a strong background in both construction delivery and design coordination within a design & build environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Management
- Lead the successful delivery of multiple design & build projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Oversee programme, cost, quality, and safety across all assigned projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line and on time with contract requirements and client expectations.
- Develop and manage detailed project execution plans.
Design Coordination
- Manage the design development process in collaboration with architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Coordinate design teams to ensure timely delivery of coordinated construction information.
- Review design for buildability, value engineering opportunities, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure alignment between design intent and construction execution.
Client Management
- Act as the main point of contact for key clients with multiple ongoing projects.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
- Provide regular progress updates, reports, and programme reviews.
- Manage client expectations and resolve issues proactively.
Commercial & Contract Awareness
- Work closely with commercial teams to ensure cost control and financial performance.
- Support the management of variations, change orders, and contract administration.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
Programme & Performance
- Develop and maintain master project programmes.
- Monitor progress and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure resources are effectively allocated across multiple live sites.
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead project teams including site managers, engineers, design consultants, and subcontractors.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and performance excellence.
- Mentor and support junior project staff where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in construction project management.
- Strong background in Design & Build project delivery.
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and/or key client accounts.
- Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, design coordination, and project controls.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience managing framework clients or repeat client portfolios
- Full, clean driving license.
