In This Role, You Will
- People Leadership, Coaching & Talent Management
Serve as the primary people leader for 200+ India-based marketing professionals across multiple disciplines, coaching and developing talent in close partnership with global functional leaders. - Drive a comprehensive India marketing talent strategy: workforce planning, strategic hiring, structured onboarding, career pathing, and retention — with depth in demand generation, Martech, digital, analytics, events, and creative.
- Identify and accelerate high‑potential leaders; build robust succession pipelines and a strong internal bench across all marketing functions.
- Foster a high‑performance, inclusive culture aligned with Cvent’s values and spirit of intrapreneurship — where every marketer is empowered to think like an owner and act with urgency.
- Champion of Event Technology & the Marketing Stack
Act as a credible “internal customer”: represent the marketer’s perspective when evaluating Cvent’s own product portfolio and translate those insights into actionable feedback for Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams. - Champion Event‑Led Growth (ELG) thinking across the India organization, ensuring teams deeply understand how Cvent’s platform drives pipeline, revenue, and engagement for enterprise B2B marketers globally.
- Represent India marketing in global forums and industry events as a confident, opinionated voice on modern B2B marketing and Event Technology.
- AI Transformation Champion
Lead Cvent India’s AI transformation within marketing — actively monitoring best‑in‑class AI tool developments, enterprise adoption trends, and emerging agentic workflows across the global marketing industry. - Experiment with and evaluate frontier AI platforms — generative content tools, AI‑driven video automation (including Goldcast’ s capabilities), intelligent personalization, and analytics automation — bringing informed, hands‑on recommendations to the organization.
- Partner with Global Marketing Operations to identify, pilot, and scale high‑impact AI and automation use cases in India‑based workstreams: content production, QA, campaign operations, and workflow automation.
- Build a culture of AI‑first thinking: upskill teams, reduce manual effort, and enable India marketing to operate with the agility and leverage that modern AI tooling provides.
- Translate AI adoption into measurable outcomes — velocity, quality, cost efficiency — and report on impact in global leadership reviews with clarity and precision.
- Operational Excellence & Follow‑the‑Sun Execution
Own the day‑to‑day operational rhythm of India-based marketing teams, ensuring reliable delivery against SLAs and commitments to global discipline leaders and regional stakeholders. - Design and continuously improve follow‑the‑sun workflows across US–EMEA–APAC time zones for campaigns, events, marketing operations, and creative services — optimizing for speed, quality, and continuity of execution.
- Partner with Global Marketing Operations on capacity planning, prioritization, and skills‑to‑work alignment, ensuring India bandwidth maps to the highest‑impact global initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, tooling, and collaboration models — positioning India as a recognized center of operational excellence within global marketing.
- Stakeholder Management & Matrix Leadership
Act as the primary India marketing point of contact for global discipline leaders, regional sales leadership (APAC/IMEA), and executive stakeholders across the business. - Ensure clear, disciplined alignment of goals, expectations, and performance feedback between India teams and global functional counterparts.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Facilities, and corporate functions in India to champion site culture, employee engagement, and a world‑class workplace experience for marketing professionals.
- Governance, Brand & Compliance
Ensure India marketing teams adhere to global policies and standards related to brand, security, data privacy, and event execution. - Proactively manage operational and people‑related risks in partnership with global functional owners.
Here’s What You Need
- 20+ years of progressive B2B marketing leadership within SaaS or enterprise technology organizations, with significant experience in people leadership and operations‑focused roles.
- Demonstrated success leading large, multi‑disciplinary marketing organizations of 100+ professionals in a global matrix structure, where functional ownership sits with distributed global leaders.
- Deep, genuine familiarity with Event Technology and/or Martech landscape — as a practitioner, platform buyer, or industry advocate. Recognized credibility as a voice in this space.
- Ability to serve as a sophisticated “internal customer”: evaluate marketing technology with a practitioner’s lens and translate insights into actionable product and GTM feedback.
- A proven track record of driving AI adoption in marketing — through tooling, workflow transformation, or team capability‑building — with an informed, hands‑on orientation toward emerging AI platforms.
- Exceptional coaching, talent management, and recruiting capability: a track record of building high‑performing teams, accelerating leaders, and constructing strong succession pipelines.
- Experience managing follow‑the‑sun or global delivery models, including capacity planning, workload balancing, and cross‑time‑zone collaboration.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills — the ability to build trusted, influential partnerships with global CMO‑level leaders, regional sales executives, and corporate functions.
- Strong working knowledge of Martech, digital marketing, and data‑driven demand generation.
- Exposure to APAC and/or IMEA markets and regional marketing dynamics strongly preferred.
- Executive presence and communication excellence; comfortable representing India marketing credibly in global forums and at industry events.
- Master’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
Why This Role
