Social Science Content Creator and Educator

At Adhyaapan, we are rethinking how Social Science is taught — shifting from memorizing facts and dates to understanding systems, perspectives, and real-world relevance, aligned with the demands of an evolving, AI-driven world.

We are looking for a Social Science Educator who doesn’t just “cover the syllabus,” but helps students make sense of society, decisions, and the world around them.

Role Overview

You will work with students in Grades 7–10, delivering application-oriented Social Science sessions that connect academic concepts to real-world issues, interdisciplinary thinking, and future pathways.

This role combines teaching + content creation + classroom innovation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Student Engagement

• Deliver engaging Social Science sessions (online and in-person) for Grades 7–10
• Facilitate discussion-driven, inquiry-based learning, not lecture-heavy teaching
• Help students connect topics in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics to real-life contexts
• Encourage students to form opinions, ask questions, and analyze different perspectives
• Conduct sessions in English and Tamil (bilingual delivery when required)

2. Content Development

• Design and develop application-based Social Science content aligned with CBSE curriculum
• Create real-world case studies, scenario-based discussions, and interdisciplinary connections
• Develop content that links concepts to current affairs, public policy, governance, and society
• Contribute to Adhyaapan’s Learning Transformation Framework
• Support creation of worksheets, assessments, and higher-order MCQs

3. Classroom Innovation

• Use storytelling, debates, simulations, and real-world examples to make concepts relatable
• Introduce students to how Social Science shapes careers, decision-making, and society
• Align sessions with Adhyaapan’s philosophy of “learning how to think, not just what to learn”

4. Assessments & Feedback

• Support baseline and endline assessments
• Track student progress in critical thinking, analysis, and application
• Provide actionable feedback to improve learning outcomes

5. School Engagement

• Visit partner schools in Chennai 2 times per month for in-person sessions
• Collaborate with school teachers to ensure curriculum alignment

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Must be based in Chennai
• 3–5 years of Social Science teaching experience (Grade 7 and above)
• 3–5 years of Social Science content development experience
• Strong experience with CBSE curriculum (Grades 7–10)
• Experience across History, Geography, Civics, and/or Economics
• Proven ability to create application-oriented content and discussions

Skills & Competencies

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Strong conceptual understanding of Social Science subjects
• Ability to connect concepts to current events and real-world situations
• Skilled in facilitating discussions, debates, and student-led thinking
• Comfortable using PowerPoint and Microsoft Office tools
• Confident in conducting online classes (Google Meet or similar platforms)

Role Requirements

• Availability to teach on:
• Weekdays (morning or afternoon slots)
• Saturdays (mandatory)
• Must have:
• Reliable high-speed internet connection
• Personal laptop/desktop with webcam
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model (online + in-person sessions)
