About the role
This role will be with Sentral, a trusted cloud-based platform supporting over 3000 schools across Australia with student administration, data management and parent engagement. By reducing administrative workload, Sentral empowers teachers, administrators and school leaders to focus on improving student outcomes. You will be driving the evolution of products used by thousands of schools nationwide.
You’ll collaborate with talented teammates, work closely with stakeholders, and see your contributions make a real difference in classrooms every day.
Salary
The salary range for this position is AUD 110,000 to 120,000 + superannuation.
Responsibilities
- Designing and delivering new product features that add real value.
- Enhancing and maintaining existing applications to keep them performing at their best.
- Bringing quality into everything you do, testing, refining, and improving along the way.
- Staying ahead of tech trends to ensure our products are modern, scalable, and future-ready.
- Working with colleagues across the business to make sure solutions meet customer needs.
- Contributing to a culture of learning, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial software development experience in enterprise SaaS environment.
- Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, Angular, and MySQL.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns (OOP, MVC, etc.).
- Familiarity with agile ways of working and delivering iteratively.
- Great communication skills—you can explain technical ideas clearly to both peers and stakeholders.
- A problem-solving mindset and a genuine curiosity for new technologies.
- Organised, proactive, and a team player.
