Software Engineer

Salary: $85,000 - 130,000 per year

• We require a technical bachelors degree in electrical engineering or computer science from a four-year college or university, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• We need strong proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• We require experience with real-time embedded operating systems such as FreeRTOS or VxWorks.
• We require experience working with Linux.
• Experience developing drivers, protocol stacks, and small-scale applications is a plus.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens and cannot hold dual citizenship.
• An advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience with product development in areas such as APCO Project 25, cellular standards, Bluetooth, 802.11, WiMedia, 802.15.4, or TCP/IP networked products is a plus.
• Experience with ultra-wideband and other positioning technologies is preferred.
• Experience with DSPs, FPGAs, and SoCs is a plus.
• Experience with sensor networks is preferred.
• The ability to work with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, protocol analyzers, and emulators is essential.
• We expect strong problem-solving ability in complex, lightly standardized situations.
• We need the ability to interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, and scheduled instructions.
• Original thinking, creativity, and resourceful problem-solving are important in this role.

• We analyze software requirements and design embedded software solutions within resource constraints.
• We collaborate with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to define functional requirements, shape software interfaces, and support hardware verification.
• We design, code, integrate, test, configure, and document complete system and software solutions.
• We stay current on wireless, networking, and processing technologies.
• We consult with customers about software system maintenance.
• We clearly present designs and trade-offs to our development team, customers, and prospective customers.
• We mentor junior engineers.
• We contribute input for budgetary quotes.
• We perform additional duties as assigned.
