Omakase Sushi Server 

Saishin at Gansevoort Meatpacking | New York, NY

Saishin is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Omakase Sushi Server to join our team. This is a full-time position ideal for someone who enjoys providing attentive, personalized service in an intimate Japanese dining environment.

Compensation: $15/hour plus tips
Schedule: Full-Time/Part-Time | Flexible availability is a must, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Deliver polished, attentive service throughout the omakase experience
• Guide guests through menu offerings and explain dishes and ingredients
• Maintain strong knowledge of sushi, Japanese cuisine, sake, wine, and beverages
• Accurately take orders and process payments
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly set dining areas
• Work closely with sushi chefs and the F&B team to ensure seamless service
• Anticipate guest needs and create a memorable dining experience
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and service standards

Qualifications

• Previous serving experience in an omakase, sushi, Japanese, or upscale/fine-dining restaurant strongly preferred
• Knowledge of sushi, Japanese ingredients, sake, and wine is a plus
• Professional, polished, and guest-focused demeanor
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
• Must meet all applicable NYC employment requirements
