Systems Engineer – Principal Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements maturation, interface definition, detailed trade studies, to translate customer requirements into software specifications.
• Develop and maintain engineering artifacts, drawings, documentation and support generation of reports and CDRLs related updates.
• Develop User Stories and Acceptance Criteria for the mission planning products.
• Work closely with software development team to implement new capabilities and ensure requirements are met.
• Support iterative development of UI/UX concepts and designs with customer feedback.
• Ensure compliance with engineering processes and standards and contribute to technical problem‑solving efforts to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Requirements

• BS or higher degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an ABET accredited university.
• 2+ years of experience OR 0 years experience with a master’s degree in a related discipline.
• 1+ years experience in one or more of the following Systems Engineering activities: operational concept/workflow development, interface analysis, requirements development and management, authoring engineering reports and documentation, participation in major milestones, design reviews.
• 1+ years experience as a Systems Engineer or Product Owner on an Agile software development effort (User Story Development, Backlog Refinement, Release Planning).
• Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow‑down, specification derivation, and interface control documentation.
• Knowledge of electromagnetic theory in the RF spectrum, signals processing.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on‑site in Manhattan Beach (CA) or Melbourne (FL).
