Kubo Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. has been a pioneer in chemicals and media for mass finishing processes since 1993. We manufacture deburring, descaling, polishing, edge-radiusing, surface (Ra value) improvement, and mirror-finish chemicals, along with ceramic, porcelain, plastic, maize/walnut, and glass bead media for vibratory, centrifugal, disc, tumbler, drag, and magnetic finishing machines.
With a technical collaboration with Sharmic Engineering (UK) and an in-house trial laboratory in Mumbai, we help manufacturers across automotive components, fasteners & hardware, jewellery, bearings, and brass/utensils solve real finishing problems — not just sell chemicals off a shelf.
We're growing our domestic sales presence, and we're looking for a Technical Sales Engineer who can be as comfortable in a client's factory as they are explaining a dosage sheet.
About the Role
This isn't a pure order-taking sales role — you'll be the technical face of Kubo Chemicals to plant heads, quality managers, and procurement teams who need to see proof before they switch. You'll qualify inquiries, coordinate sample trials (both at the client's site and through our Mumbai lab), and turn a successful trial into a converted, recurring account.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with prospective clients across our priority industries (automotive components, hardware/fasteners, jewellery, bearings, brass/utensils), and maintain consistent contact with existing accounts
- Qualify inbound inquiries (website, IndiaMART, trade shows, referrals) and manage them through to trial and conversion using our CRM and WhatsApp-based follow-up process
- Coordinate sample trials end-to-end — whether sending trial chemical kits to a client's site or arranging for client components to be tested at our Mumbai lab
- Recommend the right product and dosage for a client's specific application, working closely with our technical/lab team
- Manage a full sales pipeline from first inquiry to closed order, keeping accurate records and following defined response-time SLAs
- Analyze the competitive landscape in assigned clusters/verticals and identify where Kubo's technical edge wins deals
- Track personal and pipeline metrics against monthly and quarterly targets
- Travel within assigned industrial clusters (e.g. Pune/Chakan, Rajkot, NCR-Faridabad, Surat/Jaipur) for client visits, trade shows, and factory demonstrations
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred but not mandatory) with 1–2 years of experience in B2B/industrial sales
- Demonstrated experience managing a full sales cycle, including deal closing — not just lead generation
- Comfort discussing technical product details (dosage, dilution, process parameters) confidently with plant and quality personnel
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel regularly for client visits and trade shows
- CRM experience preferred (Zoho, Pipedrive, or similar)
Good to Have
- Prior exposure to metal finishing, surface treatment, or industrial chemicals
- Existing network or familiarity with automotive components, hardware, jewellery, or bearings manufacturing clusters
- Comfort using WhatsApp Business as a working sales tool, not just for personal messaging
