JOB TITLE: Trainee Pre-Press Support JOB SUMMARY: The Trainee Pre-Press Support will receive comprehensive training across a range of pre-press functions, including CAD design, artwork preparation, and plate making.
THE ROLE: CAD Use ArtiosCAD software to design packaging constructions. Produce carton samples using a cutting table. Prepare multi-up layouts for tooling and production.
Create varnish blanket files and cut varnish blankets for printing presses. Liaise with customers, sales teams, and production departments to ensure projects are de-livered efficiently and accurately. Artwork: Review and preflight customer artwork files to ensure they are print-ready.
Produce and issue accurate customer proofs for approval. Carry out reprographic work for lithographic printing production. Platemaking: Complete step-and-repeat layouts of approved artwork.
Produce printing plates for production. Issue printing plates and varnish blankets to the printing department. THE PERSON: Essential Criteria 5+ GCSE's A-C grade including Maths & English or equivalent Strong attention to detail Good communication skills.
Computer literate (Mac and PC). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to learn.
Persistent, determined, and able to work to deadlines. Quick learner with a positive attitude. Desirable Criteria Experience within print production or packaging environments.
Experience using Esko software, including ArtiosCAD, ArtPro, and/or Automation Engine. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite. Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
Experience communicating with both customers and internal teams.
