About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Business and Legal Affairs to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a senior member of the Business and Legal Affairs team, providing strategic legal counsel to support the company's business objectives and manage a wide range of legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks. Key responsibilities include overseeing production legal for various programming, structuring and negotiating agreements, advising on compliance, and mentoring team members.

The role demands a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to cross-functional teams. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor and be a member in good standing with the Connecticut Bar, or have the ability to register as In-House Counsel in Connecticut. A minimum of 8-10 years' of progressive legal experience, with a focus on entertainment law, is required, along with a proven track record of leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in television, documentary, or film production, and experience in areas such as crisis management, litigation, and prepublication review. The role also involves monitoring legal and regulatory developments in the media and entertainment industry and requires the ability to demonstrate sound judgment and manage multiple projects effectively. People management experience and a collaborative, inclusive approach to work are highly valued.
