Vice President, Enterprise Automation

In this role you will drive the technology stack that delivers automation for Canada Life and Life Co business functions by reducing manual labor and supporting back‑office processes. You will partner with business leaders on transformation initiatives to lower processing times, improve omni‑experience, and advance automation.
What you will do
- Act as a strategic advisor and mentor to Business Leads in developing their IT strategy.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, service providers, and competitor intelligence.
- Develop long‑range plans and ensure the effective application of technology to achieve business strategy.
- Champion the use of automation technology for competitive advantage and customer experience, providing support and ideas to Business Leaders.
- Lead a system modernization program to enable automation roadmaps, migrating legacy back‑office systems to target platforms.
- Lead technology operations with a focus on delivery excellence, ensuring efficient use of financial and people resources.
- Work proactively with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and deliver creative solutions.
- Influence the evolution of practices, processes, methods, and standards to be customer‑ and technology‑oriented.
- Design, purchase, or alter technology solutions to create competitive advantage for the business unit or organization.
- Attract, retain, and develop employees, fostering a high‑performance culture and influencing broader technology teams.
- Manage risk and compliance in accordance with Canadian and global standards.
What you will bring
- 10+ years of experience as a technology leader in a business unit or technology role.
- 5+ years in direct customer‑facing technology with extensive automation experience.
- Experience in financial services, working in a regulated environment.
- Experience building and managing workforces in matrix and complex organizations.
- Experience building multi‑geo teams and managing diverse workforces to drive results.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
- Exceptional delivery excellence and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
