FyneHand is mandated to hire for the position of Vice President.
Our client, a leading listed player in the real estate industry , is looking for a Vice President – Finance (MIS & Commercial / Retail Support & Transformation) based in Mumbai.
Role Purpose
The Vice President – Finance will play a strategic and operational leadership role in strengthening the organization’s MIS, commercial finance, and retail finance ecosystem.
The role involves driving data-backed decision-making, improving financial visibility across the retail network, and enabling scalable finance processes to support business growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities (KRA)
1. MIS, Budgets Leadership & Strategic Reporting
- Lead and transform the MIS function to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights to senior management.
- Design and implement advanced MIS frameworks, dashboards, and reporting tools aligned with business objectives.
- Drive automation and digitization of reporting processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual dependency.
- Ensure consistency, integrity, and standardization of financial data across all business units.
- Provide analytical insights on performance trends, variances, and key business drivers to support decision-making.
2. Commercial Finance Oversight
- Provide strong commercial finance leadership by reviewing business performance through structured financial analysis.
- Partner closely with business heads to evaluate profitability, pricing strategies, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Actively mentor and guide finance teams to strengthen their commercial acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Conduct periodic business reviews, identify risks/opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
3. Retail Finance Business Partnering and Centralisation
- Collaborate with retail and expansion teams to support strategic growth initiatives.
- Drive store-level profitability analysis, benchmarking, and performance tracking.
- Monitor and optimize working capital, inventory management, and cash flows across the retail network.
- Support new store rollouts with robust financial planning, feasibility analysis, and ROI tracking.
- Enable data-driven decision-making at store and regional levels.
- Centralisation of Accounting function / Shared services at Mumbai location
4. Finance Transformation & Centralization
- Lead the centralization of retail finance operations, including:
- Accounts payable processes
- MIS and reporting
- Reconciliations
- Field finance activities
- Standardize processes across locations to ensure scalability and control.
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and adoption of best practices.
- Build a future-ready finance function aligned with business expansion plans.
5. Internal Controls & Governance
- Work closely with the Financial Reporting & Control (FRC) team to strengthen the internal control framework.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Identify control gaps and implement robust mechanisms to mitigate risks.
- Support audits (internal and external) and ensure timely closure of observations.
6. Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key liaison between finance, business teams, and senior leadership.
- Influence decision-making through strong financial storytelling and insights.
- Build collaborative relationships across functions to drive alignment and execution.
7. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Upskill team members in analytics, business finance, and emerging tools.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in MIS, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and commercial finance
- Deep understanding of retail finance and multi-location business models
- Proven experience in finance transformation and process centralization
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
- Proficiency in ERP systems, BI tools, and advanced Excel
Preferred Experience
- Experience in retail, FMCG, or consumer-facing industries
- Exposure to large-scale operations and transformation projects
- Track record of driving automation and digital finance initiatives
