Position: Vice President Finance, GSSC & India Finance
We are seeking an experienced leader for Mobileum’s Global Shared Services Center (GSSC) to drive the expansion, development, and integration across the company’s global operations. This role will drive the company’s GSSC global operations and strategy, ensuring that all systems, processes, and internal controls necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place and operating effectively.
This role will be co-located with GSSC in Bangalore, India, reporting to the U.S. based Mobileum Corporate Controller.
The GSSC leader is expected to have a well-rounded shared services background with an aptitude to drive transformation beyond traditional back-office functions. Apart from education and experience, the GSSC leader must have excellent leadership qualities, a strong strategic and business acumen, and a track record of building high quality teams and processes.
The goal is to ensure that GSSC adds the maximum value to our company to facilitate the success of our business and to scale with our growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Reduce complexity via rationalization of workstreams and drive functional (rather than entity-based) processes and personnel allocation e.g. Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger Accounting, Billings and Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, etc.
- Set objectives and strategies for driving value creation through the standardization and optimization of processes across the company.
- Identify, select, and implement suitable technologies to streamline/optimize internal processes and operations to maximize their strategic benefits
- Analyze costs, value and risks and advise management on scaling the operations
Detailed Job Descriptions:
- Collaborate with global finance and operational leaders to understand their broader strategies and their specific shared services requirements; and influence these strategies based on best practices
- Monitor and report KPIs, SLA’s, SOPs and/or other forms of processes and internal controls related to Accounts Payable, General Ledger Accounting, Billings and Accounts Receivable, Payroll, VAT tax payments, etc. performed by the GSSC team (developed in conjunction with global finance teams. Lead the further development of these approaches and ensure consistent high-quality work
- Monitor and report on performance against KPIs/SLAs and SOPs monthly. Collaborate with Finance and IT departments in the implementation of NetSuite ERP. While continually managing the current ERP system and other accounting related systems focused on the improvement of system processes and internal controls.
- Provide leadership to the GSSC team in the following areas:
- Management of accounting operations, including Billing and Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Accounts Payable and revenue recognition
- Month-end and year-end close processes
- Preparation and analysis of various financial reports including monthly flux analyses for Balance Sheet and P&L (Actuals vs. Budget)
- Cash flow management
- Participation in budgeting processes
- Payroll processing management
- Global Banking relationships management
- Development and monitoring of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Oversight and preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cashflow statements
- Streamlining accounting functions and operations
- Timely completion of all statutory and tax audits for all entities
- Compliance with various tax and statutory laws such as income tax, transfer pricing, GST, Company law, Profession tax, STPI, FEMA, etc. for legal entities in India
- Mentorship and management of accounting and financial staff
- Ensure appropriate accounting and reporting under US GAAP and local accounting standards, and compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the leadership team on important matters impacting the company’s employees and operations.
Qualification and Skills
- 20+ years of Finance leadership experience, including 8+ years of shared services center experience with multinational companies
- Demonstrated strength in partnering with global leaders to develop strategies and processes that meet business needs
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across diverse cultures
- Well-developed organizational and leadership skills required to effectively manage a team, while monitoring employee performance results on a regular and data-driven basis
- Strong track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high performing team members
- A Problem Solver with a “Can Do Attitude” that demonstrates a positive outlook, despite setbacks and challenges. A leader, by example, who guides by their actions. Well-developed time management skills particularly as it relates to time zone challenges
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure to include 5 or more years of experience in evaluating and designing processes and controls
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Strong strategic business mindset
- Knowledge of USGAAP, IFRS and Indian GAAP
- BSc/BA in accounting/finance and post graduation preferred.
