VICE PRESIDENT OF DESIGN AND MERCHANDISING - Sweater, Knits and Sportwear

Our client is looking for a Vice President of Designer and Merchandising to lead the team for a Contemporary Brand located in NYC. Knowledge of all fabric categories including sweaters and knits is a plus. Direct the team with the newest trends.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team identifying trend development and design direction for contemporary/updated missy knitwear and sportswear collection.
• Collaborate with the sales and design team developing the overall concept and product strategy for each season
• Research global trends, fabrics, and trims assortments across both branded and private label
• Identify fashion trends for each account
• Ensure new developments meet costing requirements for each customer
• Manage time and action calendar to meet deadlines
• Shop the marketplace and overseas for new development and fashion inspiration

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in fashion
• Minimum of 15 years designing and merchandising for department stores, clubs and off price accounts
• Proficient in Mac

Salary $170k plus
