About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Trade Compliance to lead the establishment, governance, and enforcement of a global trade compliance framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full legal compliance with all applicable import, export, customs, sanctions, and trade regulations, particularly in the context of medical devices and related materials. This role demands a strategic leader who can proactively advise on trade risks, assess geopolitical and regulatory developments, and embed compliance into the company's global operations.
The VP will also be tasked with building and leading a global trade compliance organization, serving as the primary interface with regulatory authorities, and overseeing trade compliance systems to ensure accuracy and reduce clearance delays. Applicants for the Vice President of Trade Compliance position at the company should have a proven track record of zero material trade violations, successful audits, and effective tariff and duty optimization. The role requires a leader with a BS in a relevant field, at least 15 years of experience in global trade compliance, and trade or custom certifications.
A background in supporting regulated medical device or life science supply chains is essential, with a preference for candidates with advanced degrees and experience in FDA-regulated products. The ideal candidate will have a history of strategic leadership, regulatory and medical device compliance, and a strong focus on governance, policy, and risk management. The position is critical for maintaining the company's operational continuity in a highly regulated environment, where any delays or enforcement actions could impact healthcare delivery.
