About the Role
As a 3D Modeller, you will create clean, production-ready 3D assets across furniture, home environments, retail fixtures and props. You'll work closely with the CGI Lead, lighting artists, material artists and motion designers to build optimized, technically sound models capable of photorealistic output. This role suits someone who has moved past the fundamentals and wants to refine their craft in a fast-paced commercial production environment.
Key Responsibilities
3D Asset Creation
- Create high-quality hard-surface models for furniture, accessories, retail fixtures and lifestyle environments
- Translate CAD files, technical drawings and reference photography into production-ready 3D assets
- Develop assets suitable for stills, animation and future real-time applications
Technical Modelling Excellence
- Build clean topology with efficient edge flow and deformation-friendly geometry
- Maintain organized scene structures, naming conventions and asset hierarchy
- Create optimized models without compromising visual fidelity
- Produce clean UV layouts suitable for high-resolution texturing
Materials & Look Development Support
- Assist in creating and refining node-based material setups
- Collaborate with look-development artists to ensure models respond accurately to lighting and materials
- Ensure proper scale and surface continuity for realistic material application
Collaboration
- Work closely with product designers, marketing creatives and CGI artists to ensure design accuracy
- Support the CGI Studio Supervisor in maintaining modelling standards
- Iterate quickly on creative and technical feedback while maintaining production quality
Asset Library Management
- Help build and maintain a structured library of reusable production assets
- Organize files according to studio pipeline standards
Technical Skills
- Excellent understanding of mesh topology and hard-surface modelling
- Ability to create clean, production-ready geometry
- Strong UV mapping/unwrapping skills
- Experience with node-based shading workflows
- Good understanding of scale, proportion and product detailing
- Familiarity with subdivision modelling and asset optimization
Software Proficiency
Must have: Autodesk Maya or Blender, Chaos V-Ray and/or Corona Renderer, Adobe Photoshop
Good to have: Substance 3D Painter, RizomUV, Marvelous Designer (basic), Unreal Engine (basic), 3ds Max (optional)
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of professional experience in modelling for product visualization, furniture, architecture or CGI
- Strong grasp of both artistic and technical aspects of production modelling
- Detail-oriented, iterates well on feedback
- Organized, follows structured workflows, works well within a collaborative creative team
- Interest in AI-assisted workflows and emerging CGI technologies
Preferred Background
Furniture brands, interior/product/retail/architectural visualization, or consumer product CGI
Success in This Role
Within the first few months, you should be able to:
- Deliver production-ready assets with minimal supervision
- Consistently produce clean topology and optimized geometry
- Create accurate UVs that support high-quality material workflows
- Contribute to building a scalable internal asset library
- Work efficiently with the CGI Studio Supervisor and wider creative team to meet timelines
