Job Role : Air Cargo Operations Manager
We are looking for an experienced and driven Air Cargo Operations Manager to lead our Freight & Customs Clearance operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end freight forwarding, customs clearance, vendor relationships, customer escalations, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead and manage end-to-end Air import, export, freight forwarding, and customs clearance operations.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, freight partners, customs brokers, transporters, and other stakeholders.
● Negotiate freight rates and service agreements to ensure competitive pricing and efficient operations.
● Ensure compliance with customs regulations, documentation requirements, and internal SOPs.
● Monitor shipment movement and ensure timely delivery while proactively resolving operational challenges.
● Handle critical customer escalations and ensure effective and timely resolution.
● Drive operational efficiency, process improvements, and service quality initiatives.
● Manage and mentor the operations team, ensuring productivity and adherence to performance standards.
● Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience and achieve business objectives.
● Track operational metrics and customer satisfaction scores, including NPS, and implement corrective actions where required.
● Stay updated on customs regulations, country-specific compliance requirements, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications & Skills
● 7+ years of experience exclusively in Air Freight Operations, including AVI (Live Animal) shipments, freight forwarding, customs clearance, airline cargo operations, and international logistics management.
● Strong knowledge of Air customs regulations, import/export documentation, and freight operations.
● Proven experience in managing teams and driving operational performance.
● Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
● Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
● High attention to detail with a process-driven approach.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
● Proficiency in operational reporting and performance management.
