BIM Architect – Healthcare Interiors Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled BIM Architect to support the delivery of large-scale healthcare interior design projects through efficient BIM implementation and high-quality Revit documentation. The BIM Architect will work closely with the BIM Manager, Interior Design team, Project Architects, and consultants to develop coordinated BIM models, project documentation, and interior design deliverables in accordance with the company's BIM standards.
The role involves producing and maintaining Revit models for healthcare interior projects, implementing standardized BIM content, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that project models comply with established design standards, quality requirements, and client expectations.
The candidate will be part of a dedicated team working on approximately 9 million square feet of healthcare projects and will be stationed alongside the client's internal architecture and space planning teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. BIM Project Development
- Develop and maintain accurate Revit models for healthcare interior projects.
- Prepare BIM models from concept design through construction documentation.
- Produce coordinated architectural and interior documentation.
- Ensure models are aligned with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
- Maintain model integrity throughout project stages.
- 2. Interior Design Documentation
- Prepare detailed construction documentation including:
- Floor plans
- Reflected ceiling plans
- Interior elevations
- Sections
- Furniture layouts
- Finish plans
- Millwork details
- Door schedules
- Room Data Sheets
- Detail drawings
3. BIM Content Implementation
- Utilize company-approved Revit families and BIM libraries.
- Apply standardized materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
- Maintain consistency with company naming conventions and BIM standards.
- Request new family creation where required.
- Report improvements for BIM content and workflows.
4. Project Coordination
- Coordinate BIM models with:
- Architecture
- Interior Design
- Structural Engineering
- MEP Consultants
- Medical Planning Consultants
- Vendors and Suppliers Responsibilities include:
- Clash identification
- Design coordination
- Model integration
- Resolution of coordination issues
5. Healthcare Interior Planning
- Support planning and modelling of healthcare spaces including:
- Patient Rooms
- ICU Rooms
- Operating Theatres
- Nurse Stations
- Laboratories
- Consultation Rooms
- Imaging Suites
- Waiting Areas
- Pharmacy Spaces
Ensure compliance with healthcare planning standards and project-specific requirements.
6. Quality Assurance
- Perform self-checks prior to model submissions.
- Ensure compliance with company BIM standards.
- Verify model accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain consistency of parameters and data.
- Participate in internal quality reviews.
7. Documentation & Deliverables
- Prepare project deliverables including:
- BIM Models
- Construction Documentation
- Material Schedules
- Finish Schedules
- FF&E Schedules
- Quantity Information
- Room Data Sheets
- Drawing Sets
- Maintain documentation in accordance with project milestones.
8. Collaboration
- Work closely with Interior Designers and Project Architects.
- Coordinate with BIM Manager for implementation of standards.
- Participate in coordination meetings.
- Communicate design issues and propose solutions.
- Assist junior BIM team members where required.
9. Continuous Learning & Improvement
- Stay updated with Revit features and BIM workflows.
- Learn emerging healthcare design standards.
- Contribute ideas to improve BIM processes.
- Support implementation of automation tools such as Dynamo where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
- 2–6 years of professional experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Autodesk Revit experience.
- Experience in interior architecture projects.
- Healthcare project experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation.
- Knowledge of interior detailing and material specifications.
- Familiarity with BIM standards and coordination workflows.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
